Lohse Is More

So, the cardinals made a move today out of necessity because now pineiro has something going on with the shoulder in addition to clement not being ready for opening day. that leaves them with two sure starters; wainwright and looper. so, the three guys that were competing for two spots-reyes, thompson and wellemeyer- would all be in the rotation.
not so says Mo. yes, the cards did sign kyle lohse to a one year deal worth 4.25 million dollars. that’s a good deal in my opinion; something like this had to be done, whether it was bringing in lohse or weavs or whomever.
if nothing else, he will be that innings eater that this pitching staff needs because he will probably throw around 200 innings and put a a 4 and 1/2 era or so. I can live with that; heck, that’s about the same amount of money they paid the kipster last season and he was horrible.
LBoros mentions that lohse is very comparable to jeff suppan when the cardinals got him, and after looking at the tables that he has put together I have to wholeheartedly agree.
I think he automatically becomes your second best starter in the rotation…yes, I said it. he is better than looper.

I wouldn’t argue the Looper point. Probably will be that way the whole year.
