are you out of your mind?

Juan E. still wants to play for the Dominican team in the wbc after arriving late to camp. that means he would only spend about 6 to 7 days in jupiter before he leaves for those glorified exhibition games. he is not getting payed by the the dominican republic, he is getting payed by the cardinals (too much money for too many years i would say). does he have a brain? here is the article done by matthew leach of stlcardinals.com:

ST. LOUIS — There’s another cloudy situation regarding Cardinals right fielder Juan Encarnacion. A day after Encarnacion finally arrived at camp following a hassle over his work visa, it’s now unclear whether Encarnacion will play in the World Baseball Classic. Encarnacion’s name was on the provisional 60-man roster submitted by the Dominican Republic. However, the Cardinals were at least temporarily under the impression that the outfielder would not be on the final roster. On Friday, manager Tony La Russa told reporters that the Dominican team will select Encarnacion after all. Stan Javier, the general manager of the club, played for La Russa’s Oakland teams in the 1980s and ’90s. As far as Encarnacion knows, though, it’s not a done deal. “We’ll see,” he said when asked after Friday’s workout at Roger Dean Stadium. Would he like to play for his country? “I don’t see any reason why not,” said Encarnacion.”

let’s look at this situation from another perspective. okay, juan goes to play in the wbc, what do we do now? well, this might be a good thing. once he is gone, there is a lot of playing time for all of the guys that are trying to get that last outfield spot on the bench including: john gall, rick ankiel, chris duncan, prentice redman, skip schumaker & ried gorecki  (these last three guys have a really small chance of making the team, it would probably take a miracle, as if you didnt already know! duhh.) thats the only positive spin i could come of with on this situation. i would like your feedback, tell me what you think.
