Mulder does everything in busch home opener!

April 11, 2006

what can i say, a great day in st. louis history. the cards beat the brew crew 6 to 4.

Mark "Muldew" was awesome, i mean great, no spectacular.

he was really good, going 8 innings, striking out 5 and allowing 2 runs on a two run homer. very good outing over all.

did i mention him going 2 for 3 with a double, walk and a two run homer. man, that was awesome.

not to overshadow what A.P. did of course. he hit the first cardinal homerun in new busch, and the longest so far. it was estimated at a distance of 445 feet. man thats a long way. im pretty sure one of these days albert will hit a moonshot  that will clear the whole staduim. looper gave up a couple of hits. izzy gave up a couple of runs. turns out that mulder's two run jack wins the game. so he won the game with his arm and his stick.

good day overall, but bullpen still shaky. man, the cards need to get their 'pen straightened out. its all good in cardinal nation!

when DOESN’T izzy let a few runs in??

as long as izzy is considered an amazing closer, the ‘pen will never get straightened out.

gosh. i sound so mean. but when mulder does an amazing job (or any other pitcher) and goes 8 innings only to have izzy allow runs in ONE inning something needs to be thought out a little more thoroughly. (i’m getting off my soapbox now. you don’t even know me!)

    true.
the guys at my office are trying to decide if izzy is just being dramatic by putting runners on base, getting the fans all up in arms andd then doing a “miracle” save however every great once in awhile he just really screws up when he doesn’t mean to
    or
if he’s really just overrated like i think he is…guess we’ll never know 🙂
