despite hitting three solo homers, the cards lost to the mets 4-3.

chris carpenter gave up two runs in three innings of work, both coming in the first inning.

thats not a problem because this is carp we are talking about and he was working on his changeup.

chris duncan and scott spezio homer off of a former cardinal…..wait for it….jorge sosa.

thank you jorge! also, edgar gonzalez (adrian gonzalez’s brother, who is the 1st baseman of the padres) hit a solo shot off of eddie camacho.

today, the cards will host the mets at roger dean stadium at 1:05 ET. I think the starters will be braden looper(!) vs. chen ho park(???, not really sure; a couple of guys will pitch but I’m not sure that he will be the starter).

also, ricardo rincon is slated to pitch today. the appearance will be rincon’s first in a game since early april of last season.

on a different note, the cards signed a pitcher from the mexican league, fernando salas. he is a reliever and 21 years old. he is probably slated for double A.
