Bills win to advance to conference semifinals

March 9, 2007

pick from stltoday article (Tim Larsen/AP)

the st. louis billikens have had an up and down season all year long.

they finished the regular season 18-12, with two more wins than the previous year.

going into the conference tournament, no one(including me) really gave them a shot to do anything because they have been inconsistant all year.

now, after two games, it seems like they have finally put it together.

the big three are finally playing their best basketball (big three as in vouyouks, liddell and lisch) at the right time.

if you missed last night’s game, you really missed watching a thriller that ended in overtime with the bills winning 74-71. the game was just amazing, it went back and fourth all day and going into halftime the bills were down by 8 points.

they are somewhat like the cards of ’06. how? well, there was a lot of expectations at the beginning of the season and everyone expected them to get an at large bid to the big dance.

well, they played pretty good throughout the nonconference schedule, but when they got to playing against A-10 opponents, they were not very good and played .500 ball.

now, the bills are two wins away from a bid to the ncaa tournament and it has me excited.

the bills play tonight at 8 p.m. central vs. george washington in atlantic city. the game will be televised on cw11/kplr in st. louis and broadcast in the radio on 590 the fan.

if you want, you can listen to the game live streaming on the kfns website.
