Super Duper Looper

this cards rotation keeps amazing me. yesterday, a converted reliever that was shaky pitching as a setup guy in the 8th inning (which was his primary position) won his first game in the big leagues as a starter.

If you did not believe duncan can work miracles than think again my friend.

braden looper pitched seven scoreless innings.  B-Loop allowed two hits, gave up three walks and struck out two. he was really good, granted its pittsburgh but there offense should be decent this season.

ryan franklin is now the 8th inning setup guy for izzy and rightfully so. he has been great his last couple of times out, lets hope it continues.

the izzy man came out last night and got himself his 2nd save of the season and it was a rare 1,2,3 ninth inning (this was really nice to see).

rolen drove in the game’s winning run on a single in the 4th inning. late in the game with one or two outs(cant really remember) and runners on 1st and 2nd, tlr pinch hit for jimmy baseball with preston wilson.

thats right, p-dub and he actually got a hit, a double to be specific to drive in two. i hated that move even though he got a hit. come on, we all know preston still sucks, come on tony! edmonds has shown he can hit left handers throughout his career (although not recently). why doesnt tlr allow him to hit against lefties? that really ticks me off.

the guy is your starting centerfielder. if you think he is a platoon guy, just come out and say it (although i dont believe he is). same applies for not letting c-dunc hit against lefties.

so, the cards shutout the pirates, 3-0.

to other news: carpenter will be placed on the DL. he was diagnosed with “moderate arthiritis and a slight impingement” in his pitching elbow. the move was retroactive to april 2nd.

i dont know about you, but i cringe when i hear the word “impingement”. do you remember what they said about mark mulder and scott rolen, both had “impingements”. hopefully this one will be handled a lot better. carp will likely miss three starts at least.

randy keisler was called up from AAA to pitch against pittburgh in carp’s spot. he will be opposed by tom gorzelanny, a young lefthander. all i’m asking out if randy is to keep the game close and keep the team competitive.

thats all i’ve got today, have a good one.
