Cards clobber the Brewers

the cards got out the whooping sticks yesterday against been sheets.
what seemed like a clear advantage for the brewers did not help the brew crew at all.
going into this game, you would think that the brewers had a clear advantage over our cards with ben sheets, the ace, going against braden looper, a reliever turned starter.
what happened was the opposite; looper had a solid outing and got his second straight win while sheets basically got rocketed.
on the other side, the offense really erupted with the two primary mashers: albert pujols and chris duncan.
sheet pitched five innings giving up eight hits, eight runs and seven of them were earned. he also walked three and struck out two. he got the Lose.
while braden looper went six innings giving up five hits and two earned runs. he also struck out three and walked two.
franklin, thompson and flores each pitched a scoreless inning.
offensively, two players mashed as i mentioned earlier. chris duncan was the man masher going 4 for 5 with a solo shot and two runs scored. his average is now up to .412.
that other guy, albert, went two for five; both of his hits were homers, one was a three run shot and the other a solo jack. he also collected five rbis.
i dont know what was wrong with sheets but something seemed to be. how do i know? get this, he walked molina and also…….wait for it……..thats right, preston wilson.
so, either he had horrible control or he was injured because p-dub and gasolina dont just talk walks, it seems like they try to avoid them.
here is an observation that i made during yesterday’s game about jimmy edmonds: it looks like he is really locked in. the guy should have went at least 2 for 4 with a double and a couple of rbis instead he goes 0 for 4 with a walk.
hart made a great play to rob jimmy of an extra base hit and weeks did that same (robbing jimmy of another hit) when he somehow maneuvered to catch a smash down the middle and turn it into a double play. three out of the four outs that he made last night were hard hit balls to the warning track or pretty close.
watch out boys and girls because i think jimmy baseball is really seeing the ball as of late and i smell a breakout soon.
so, the cards blasted the brew crew, 10-2.
tonight, the buccos are back in two. its anthony reyes vs. ian snell at 7:10 central time.
