Cards slug their way past Cubs in extra innings

well, it took an extra inning in today’s game but our cards won it.

the cards win the series in wrigley field, two games to one.

today seemed like a flash back to the 2004 murderer’s row cardinal offense, with all three members of the mv3 homering.

jimmy baseball got things started with a two run shot (finally, some points for my fantasy team and a big boost for the cards). scotty hit a no doubter (solo shot) later and albert hit a three run homer in the 10th inning to give the cards the lead and eventually the win.

jimmy went 2 for 5 with a walk, a homer and two rbis. scotty went 5 for 6 (!) with a solo shot, a two run triple and two singles. pujols went 3 for 6 with a three run homer.

wainwright was squeezed by the ump a little, but he was bad, giving up 7 runs and twelve hits in 5.1 innings. so, the cards win this slugfest, 12-9.

Sidenote: very light posting if at all for the next two weeks or so because of finals. should be back in full gear by may 15th. bear with me and enjoy this woopin’ we put on the cubbies!
