Eckstein signs deal with Toronto

December 13, 2007

david eckstein has signed a one year deal with the toronto bluejays. the article says that eckstein will be the jays starting shortstop and leadoff hitter next season.

the deal is worth 4.5 million dollars. it was a good thing that MO didnt offer him arbtiration i guess because he would have got at least twice that.

the problem was signing izturis so quickly. couldnt he have waited a couple of weeks to see what happens to eckstein? its not like teams were lining up for cesar and MO had to have him right away.

i dont know about you, but i’d pay a million more to have david as my starting shortstop for another year.

this is a very good signing for the bluejays i think.

well, i wish david the best of luck in toronto; he was a great leadoff man while he was here and he helped get the cardinals a world series in his tenure in the STL. so long.
