Holliday “gift” is no more…

November 10, 2008

so, the post dispatch is reporting that the trade that would have involved a swap of ludwick and holliday is dead. at least for now.

I’m guessing MO balked at the quantity he has to give for holliday; he probably did not get as part of the deal time for extension negotiations because the infamous scott boras is holliday’s agent and most likely he wants matt to test the free agent waters next off season (and rightfully so).

so, that was a smart move by mo; he would have given up to many players and too many cheap controlled productive years of three players of various abilities for one year of a very good player with drastic home and away splits. again, kudos to mo.

now, can mo focus on the man that asked to be traded; that’s right, adam kennedy. do your magic john.

I can’t believe that Arizona expressed interest. Don’t overplay your hand, Mo.
